Meet Our Coaches

Coach Chris

Welcome to Coach Chris Confidence (CCC)!  Our success is driven by the eagerness of our students to learn from and trust our dedicated coaching staff.

At CCC, we teach water safety, confidence, and more to all ages and levels.  Every non-swimmer that takes private lessons at CCC learns what to do if they accidentally fall into the water: roll on their back, kick to the side, and pull themselves out of the water.  After students are safe in the water, we teach backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, treading water, and diving. We teach students from frightened to advanced and from age 3 to adult.

Locally owned swim school & locally developed curriculum, CCC has blossomed over the years, growing to 20 summer coaches and teaching over 25,000 lessons to over 2,200 students. We teach private swim lessons 7 days a week all year round.  Thank you to our coaches for their confident instruction and thank you to our students and their families for your trust and support.

Coach Addy

I am taking a gap year and love teaching private swim lessons at CCC. In my free time, I like to read, write, and play with my two dogs, Libby and Bell.

Coach Ann

As a young child, I always wanted to be in a pool. By the time I was 5, I was already on a swim team. I have swum for many different swim teams. I am currently a student at Shippensburg University. When I’m not swimming I like to work out, spend time with friends, and relax at home. I’m so excited to help you start your journey in becoming safe and confident in the water. See you at the pool!

Coach Ava

Hi! I am Coach Ava. I attend Mechanicsburg Area High. My love of water began when I participated in swimming lessons at 7 years old. My love for swimming started when I joined the swim team at 8 years old and then started USA swimming shortly after that. I was a lifeguard at the Mechanicsburg area pool and I taught swim lessons at Keystone Aquatics. For the past few years, I also swam competitively at Keystone Aquatics but I recently joined Cumberland Valley Aquatics Club. I like swimming in the ocean when I go to the beach. I love hanging out with my friends and family. I really enjoy watching people develop confidence in themselves because it is such a great trait to have in life. I enjoy working with and meeting new people. I am excited to share my passion for water with my students!

Over the past nine years, I have dedicated myself to the sport—coaching the Cary Sharks for four years and teaching swim lessons for five. When I’m not on the pool deck, I’m usually producing music, playing guitar and piano, or growing my collection of sports and Pokémon cards.

Coach MaryBeth has loved being in the water since she was a young girl. Her first job as a lifeguard and swim coach was in Carlisle at the YMCA and Country Club. She continued working as a swim coach throughout her education at Bloomsburg University. Exercise Science and an internship with local high school and elementary swim teams furthered her knowledge in swimming programs and techniques. During her time owning and operating a small gym she has trained others to compete in triathlons and open water swims. MaryBeth is very excited to join us at Coach Chris Confidence and looks forward to teaching others how to be strong, brave and have fun in the water!

Coach Miranda

Coach Miranda has always loved the water. She was on swim team as a kid, and as an adult, competed in triathlons and participated on the Masters swim team. She started teaching lessons through the Y as a teen, and has continued teaching and coaching ever since. When she’s not in the water, Coach Miranda enjoys hanging out in the woods with her husband and 3 kids, running, knitting, music, baking, and gardening.

Coach Scott

For the past 15 years I have watched and marveled at my son swimming.  He is now swimming for a college team and his love of the water has rubbed off on me and led me to become a coach for Coach Chris Confidence.  Outside of teaching private lessons, I am a sixth-grade reading teacher. My bachelor’s degrees are in psychology and social work, and I have a master’s degree in child development from Tufts University in Boston, MA.

I enjoy traveling, reading, spending time with my friends and family, playing piano, singing, and catching up on a good Netflix series in my free time.  I am looking forward to helping students of all ages become safe and confident swimmers!

Coach Sofie

Hi! I’m Sofie, and I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was four years old. I compete in both swimming and water polo, serve as captain of the swim team, and am a Mid Penn and District qualifier for Cumberland Valley High School. My favorite event is the 100 IM! Along with competing year-round, I love coaching and helping young swimmers build confidence in the water at both a basic and competitive level. If I am not in the water, you will find me singing, trying new foods, and traveling the world!
